Policy Fast Track

At a time of enormous change in the Arab world, the need to accelerate reform in education is urgent. A vast amount of knowledge and experience exists on developments and innovations in education – in the Arab region and beyond – but is often inaccessible to hard pressed education ministries. Responding to their priorities, we aim to explore new, realistic and scaleable approaches to the challenge of education reform by assembling, synthesising and disseminating the best of this knowledge, whether in quality assurance, curriculum development, harnessing the informatics led learning revolution, or in planning effective country transformation programmes at any level of education.

We also seek to identify and shape initiatives that bring to bear the interests and aptitudes of educated and qualified young people in and of the Arab world who are ready to contribute to their communities and societies through a commitment to education and active citizenship. The 2011–12 Arab World Competitiveness Report summed it up: "The developments since 2011 provide a unique window of opportunity for the Arab world to leverage its 'youth bulge'."
